Can midi commands open and play files in sonar?

No idea how to do this, if possible...

My lighting guy would like to be able to open up sonar files during our live show and play them without having to actually be at the computer itself, using midi commands to open up and play files...anyone know if this is possible at all?  Thanks!

    I don't think MIDI is going to be able to open project files and run the transport.          

    i7-870 2.93Ghz, 16GB RAM, Radeon HD 5770 + 2 x DisplayLink w/ 4 x 22" screens, Intel SSD 80GB, Sonar X1-D Exp.

    yeah, figured that would be tricky.  Any idea if its possible to build a macro that could do it?

    That's definitely possible. What exactly is he trying to do with this setup?
