Why not? 24gigs<$200 ddr3 1600

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231359

Was surprised to see so little support for over 12 gigs and given the amazing low price at present,  figure it's worth the small investment to future proof and allow for unbridled running of round robins and video processing.  Will report on this difference down the road.

I have a lot of memory intensive kits, like evolve, mutations, omnisphere, trillian, and others... Damage, another 30gig kit to come... While my system still suffers occasional instabilities and latency issues, I figure it's never been cheaper to remove this little potential pest from the equation.

Biting the bullet Sunday.   Any thoughts welcome!

Figure the way the economy is going I may as well continue investing while the dollar has a bit of value left!

Many PC's (motherboards) won't accomodate that much memory.  e.g. I'm maxed out at 8GB on my DAW machine.  I have a new i5 CPU laptop and 8 GB is max on it.

I have 12g but have never used more than 5. Wouldn't spend $1.00 n more memory

I would buy 24 gigs if I had the money.  If your recording a live rock band I dont think that much memory is necessary but if your doing orchestral mock ups with quality samples you will not regret getting all the RAM you can.

I max out my 8 gigs pretty quickly once I start loading Hollywood String patches.
