Groove Clip dilema

I took a year break from recording and when I came back I forgot a few things. I remember using groove clips many times to extend pieces without having to actually play them. Now. I can't figure out this "beats in clip" thing. I have a one measure phrase that I want to repeat with two bars of space in between each phrase. I messed with the BIC thing for a long time and it keeps on just speeding it up or slowing down.
What am I doing wrong here??
Thanks for any help

I thought about that, but it is a long repetitive pattern...that's alot of pasting :) I also want to get to the bottom of this problem so I will know how to do it in the future.

I guess I'm not clear what you're asking. Or, what Beagles video is showing.

    What's a 'BIC thing'?

I never understood what the 'groove clips' window was for. Seems like a lot of work for nothin.

Anyway, I think you want to make a 3 measure loop?

So, create the 3 measure piece, bounce to clips,
    highlight it
    hit alt/enter (or right clik/properties),
select audio stretching (the second tab I think. not at my daw. might be enable strtching or something).
The default 'beats' will probably be wrong. You want to enter 12 in the box (4 "beats" per measure X 3).
    hit enter. done.
    drag it out.
