Whats the max track count at 192 khz ?

  Hi all could someone please job my memory and tell me the track count for 44khz 92khz up to 192khz ? I plan on doing a track at 192Khz but want to make sure I can have enough tracks for the session. Thanks to all Norrie

    There is no limit to tracks in Sonar . It is a matter of your hardware being able to handle the load.

    They do not purposely limit it.

    Many audio interfaces turn into something like  one in/one out monotrackers when 192 kHz is selected. Even the ones that are advertised as supporting 192 kHz.

    Norrie, to each his own, but I am genuinely curious as to why you would possibly want to track at 192 when most experts agree there is no audible difference, and that resampling does more damage than good? Not to mention the strain on the system. I'm sure it'll be interesting, but not really practical for most purposes. Care to elaborate?

    Thanks for the reply's guys ! I thought it was unlimited but thought some one said at some point it was limited to 32 at 192 but I didn't think that was right so thought I would ask here :) I was just curious as I have never done a track at 192 Ive heard a lot of debates about there being no audible difference so thought I might try a track at 192 my self. I never see my system under strain and just thought I might give it a try to see what its like. Thanks to all Norrie

    I can tell you that the Roland Octa-Capture will only let you use channels 1-4 at 192 Khz so by selecting that sample frequency you have thrown away half your analog device channels.

    Norrie, don't anyone talk you out of it. Record a project at 192KHz and find out for yourself. Bear in mind that it won't be the number of tracks that is limited, but the number of effects.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Hi Bitfliper Yeah it was really just a curiosity issue I thought with having the optionhere I may as well try a project with it at 192 and see how it turns out. It cant hurt ..... I hope haha
