£500.00 for PC

Hello,

Can anyone point me where i can get a decent-ish PC for £500.00 in the UK That will be capable of running Sonar Producer/X1 with lots of plug ins running at one time!

As  my current PC  i load up 4 Instruments as soon as i use plugins of certain types aka the good ones it spikes.......

thanks,

Chris

I recently got one of these for £500.  There's a good range of sub £500 machines there to choose from.  The i5 2600k there at £409 is a good buy also.

Great service from the builder although don't expect next day turnaround as he builds to order, and he really knows what components to put together to make a good system.

A few DAW specific tweaks to the OS and she now runs runs as sweet as a nut.

I'd use the same firm again as they came out around the same price as my costings for a one off self build.  Plus I got a years RTB warranty on the finished machine which I wouldn't have had going the DIY route.

chops it depends on what you can re-use e.g. the hard drive / screen etc. a p4 is getting on a bit if you chuck some cpu hungry plugs at it.

Last desktop I bought was a prebuilt was a nightmare for space inside amongst other things.. so I went back to making my own.. but they do ready mades also.

are decent for parts.. one of their main rivals who I won't mention for legal reasons had  customer service was beyond rubbish.

I would say get a minimum of an i5 cpu though and stick with an intel cpu.
