Nov. Issue of CM Magazine broke my heart!!!

Last night I got home and opened my mail box.....Inside was the Nov. Issue of Computer Magazine......When I opened it...I could not believe my eyes....There on the shiny glossy cover shouting to all the world that this months Free Soft Synth give away was......well.....Sonar's well used and very well known...........ZETA+.............and not just a cut down version either.....I mean they are giving the whole enchalada away.....the whole version!!! in all her glory!!!! all 768 presets, fully operational....and functional and beautiful and ....and .....well I just could not think about it......I felt...well....kinda of sad....it's like Cake is putter her out to pasture to live out the rest of her natural born days.....to slowly fade into the sunset....Well I for one will always want to keep her alive and kicking...I love that synth....and Rapture as well....(*big Sigh*) oh well.....at least others that could not (or would not) afford her will now have the oppurtunity to enjoy her as well.................Live long and Prosper Zeta+................Clifford

Z3ta+ is truly an excellent synth and Z3ta2 is even much more better. I'm guessing that since Cake has been selling the 1st version for some time, they're willing to part with it (for free) in hopes of promoting Z3ta2 sales. If they were still making lots of $$ off Z3ta+, I'm sure they wouldn't give it away like this.
I"m totally happy to have have both.....
(Just yesterday, I bought some 150 patches (70's & 80's disco stuff) from Xenos for $5.95 and the demo's sounded really good....I highly recommend them. Check it out on KVR market place)

If I'm not mistaken, the quick fix update ironed out some of those issue (although I didn't experience any problems prior to the fix). Clifford, if you like Z3eta+, you definitley must get 2!!! There's a lot more options in this and it's very easy to tweak (even for a no brainer like me) and get very good results from it. It's a beast!!

There were - and still are - issues with Z2, but it's also still worth the upgrade as most of the issues are not showstoppers (for most people).

I'm not crazy about the presets it comes with, but it's still got a few good ones (and the older ones are great) and it's a very tweakable synth so all in all, it's a worthy product, imho.

Well You know ...I was looking at it in the Cake store yesterday and I almost pulled the trigger on it...So very close.............but yes, I do love the original....and that $5.95 expansion pack does not sound too bad either... One question....if I get version 2 and install it, will it over write the original version? If it does I would really have to think about that, if not then i am more apt to buying it.... thanks guys Clifford

No, it'll be a seperate VSTi, but you can access/play the patches from version 1 in Z3ta2....which is very cool.....AND the patch directories are organized much better in 2 (by types of patches - Arp, Bass, Pad etc...). If you like the 1st version, I'm sure you'll love this one as well!!

I'm going to install Xenos expansion this evening at test them out....
