M-Audio Axiom 61 keyboard USB connection

I have noticed that my Axiom 61 keyboards display will flicker at times right after launching X1. I thought it was the USB connection to the computer but now I think it may have to do with the USB in my computer. When using X1, the keyboard will also stop working. I then disconnect the USB cord from the keyboard and plug it back in. Once I do that, it seems to work OK. Could this be some kind of interupt issue with USB ports? I don't think it is the physical USB port on the keyboard even though I have read about others having that problem. Thanks. Rimshot

#1. I would try another usb port in computer.
There are usually a couple of main usb hosts and what is connected on one might interfere with another.

#2. I have had plenty products with poor usb drivers that causes disturbance on all usb in computer. Keyboard and mouse behaved funny or hung etc.

    - mobile phone
    - multi remote controller
    - GPS
    - mp3-player
    - digital camera

Usually these drivers are updated eventually and work better, but until then I uninstalled these drivers every time after using them(those that introduced the problem).

Unless you can identify what was installed that made these problems occur I would consider using the midi out on keyboard and connect to a midi port instead. It means also getting a power supply to your midi keyboard.
