New DAW Computer advice

Hello...New user here! About to purchase a new Computer for Cakewalk Sonar X1 and V100 interface. Would it be wiser to get the i7 Sandybridge/i5 Sandy bridge or i7 950 OS. I usually do Jazzy Folky  Blues tunes with 20 tracks max and Superior drummer with keys and bass synth backing with the rest being live guitars and vocals..Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have a AMD 1080T system and haven't had any issues running Sonar X1c. Not to say there's issues with intel, but the cost for a AMD 6 core 3.2ghz chip helped in the decision to go the way I did.   I may catch some flack for bringing it up...

    Bluzman,
Talk to Jim at StudioCat or Scott at ADK; I'm over rolling my own.
Look through some posts, both will pop right up.
