Unstable without reboot

After opening a project with lots of plugins, SONAR EXP x64 is very stable. However, If I open a second project, or close the first and then open a second, the SONAR is unstable and hangs after various miscellaneous operations.  The second project is stable only if I reboot "to clear the mind" and open the second project after the reboot.  Is this routine behavior for you guys?  Of course it is always best to work with a clear mind, but why would a second project be unstable with all the speed and memory that I have?  Thanks!

YES - I have the same probleme, since 1995 with all versions from Cakewalk. Maybe this is a problem with Microsoft Windows. Windows has always a problem to clear the memory. The some problem with other programs.

I occasionally get the instability issue. But most often I can open and close projects at will and have no adverse reactions from X1.

I'm running XP pro, i5-750, 4 gig RAM, on a custom off line DAW.

Do you need to do a cold reboot or will simply closing and restarting Cake do the trick?

What I see on my DAW is something happens to make the time line "jumpy" rather then the smooth flow it normally has, and the sound glitches as well. A simple close cake and restart X1 usually solves the problem.

As to what causes It.... I have no clue.

Another thing that happens as well is my interface and the computer will lose all or part of it's communication. Sometimes it's just the midi (most often) and in those instances a total reboot and restart of the interface as well, is the recommended action.
