Is there a way to change the track colors?
I want to be able to change the track colors for grouping... I know how to change the clip colors in the TI. However... Whether I change the Track or Clip colors it only affects the clip... Thanks, David

That's actually a good idea. I guess it would be something similar to the way it looks in Pro Tools. You should do a feature request.

Mooch4056 When I look at myself, I am so beautiful I scream with joy! Is this an inside joke? If so, really kind of almost funny sort of.

musicroom bladetragic That's actually a good idea. I guess it would be something similar to the way it looks in Pro Tools. You should do a feature request. Thanks - just submitted one... Very good. Encourage others to submit this request, too. X1 could really use some attention to its visual ergonomic organization. I've been testing out Cubase, and the ability to color any tracks tab is very welcome. (I only wish you could color the entire track background separately for each -- would make it that much easier to differentiate between brass, strings, woods, precussion, etc. when you're zipping around 120 tracks) Also, the ability in Cubase to fit 40 or so tracks on screen at once and nested folders is a Godsend. It would also be ideal if the X1 Console View to have separate, assignable colors for each channel strip -- so busses could be assigned a blue color, audio channels could be assigned yellow, midi = green or whatever. About the main reason I'm exploring Cubase is because I can't deal with the visual graphics in X1 anymore, especially now that the contrast is so diminished. So much easier for me to find and select clips and tracks quickly with the Cubase interface. I love X1 otherwise though, it's great. Mahlon

Mahlon From a clean looking piece of software - X1 looks professional. I'm with you on this though, navigating around quickly to spot what/where I want to focus on is a strain. I'm trying to train myself to look for the track icons, but it's not as clear to me as standout colors and highlights for selected tracks.... Might also be a nice perk to have different track coloring options in screensets as well. hmmmm Basically we are used to thinking of working on mixing using a console that spreads across a desk, so any help we can get for spotting and focusing on our tracks via a computer monitor would be appreciated by most of us.

I truly dislike the track colors. For the life of me, I can't figure out why 5 of my 6 tracks in my normal template are always defaulted to an awful identical beige, which looks truly hideous amidst the endless shades of gray, grayer. grayish, light gray, slightly lighter grey of the X1 "colors". When I go into the color assignment, it lists colors for groups of audio tracks 1, 11, 21... 2,12,22, and same for midi tracks. These don't seem to correspond to any of my six instrument tracks, which are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 - no way they should be the same color and repeated like this. It looks like they all randomly inherited 8, 18, 28 when I bring in old projects. I've also asked for a randomize color function for years. When dealing with linked clips especially - I want to see which bits in a track are different from each other and which ones are identical. It is extreme drudgery to constantly have to recolor new and split clips (and they revert back to the track defaults whenever you bounce to clips). If I have 8 variants of a drum pattern, I don't want to have to manually re-color each one. I want a quick action that effectively makes the selected clips different from the track defaults...just something unique for each unique clip that isn't currently in use on that track.
