How to show plenty of tracks with control info & selected waveform in X1. Video now back.
I'm sure this will get derision from some but here's how I would use X1 to show multiple track info, meters, MSR, FX bins etc etc. and selected track waveform in X1. On my monitor at 1680 x 1050 I can show 29 tracks plus the master buss, bigger monitors will probably be in the mid 30s. I hope it's useful for some. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPjsHkTaC5E Edit: Link to HD video added

Hi Karl, FYI - the audio is extremely low on that video. Nice job though.

Karl, that is very cool indeed - thanks for the idea. However, I just tried it out and somehow managed to dock the Track View into the Multidock Not your fault of course, but very strange all the same. BTW, the project still plays fine, I just can't 'escape' into any other View. A restart of X1 solved it though Knowing that the forum will resize the above image, here's a closer view of the affected area:

FYI - the audio is extremely low on that video. Shoot, I thought it was just me. I tried to listen through my lappy speakers and could not hear it, Considering the source, I will have another go with my cans. Julien

Julien Hi, I've re-recorded it and hopefully it should be much better now. I've just stuck up a fairly lo-quality vid for now while the HD one is uploading. Let me know if there's still a problem. Camstudio doesn't want to use my main interface so I have to use my Sonic Cell, I was struggling to get any level. I've since realised the input was on line level, not mic. Anyway it should be okay now.

Thanks for this, I never used the console view much as I couldn't see the waveforms or time line. This helps loads. Cheers Steve.
I was faced with a choice at a difficult age Would I write a book? Or should I take to the stage? But in the back of my head I heard distant feet Che Guevara and Debussy to a disco beat

Hi, I've re-recorded it and hopefully it should be much better now. Still a bit low, but completely understandable, at least here. Nice job! I think what I really liked the best was the idea of sizing all tracks so that one fits in the top open area. Never thought of doing that before.

Hi Carl. That's a cool video. I often forget that SONAR has a console view. How about importing that video into SONAR and bumping up the audio levels with ProChannel? best regards, mike

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I mentioned it in this version of the video but of course you only need do this once, and then keep it as one of your screensets. Ctrl + number will copy it to an empty slot for you. Of course with dual monitors you can float the multidock and maximise it on the second monitor, then adjust the size of the tracks in the TV to see even more waveforms. Then you get the best of both worlds, but this is a pretty good compromise for single monitors.
