Dragging MIDI clip from Browser to Simple instrument track problem

Hi,

when troubleshooting another problem in X1c, I moved a MIDI groove clip (.mid extension) from Browser to TruePianos Simple Instrument track. After doing it, the MIDI clip was inserted into the "audio" part of the Instrument track, not to the MIDI track, so I had to move it to the right place in order to get the sound.

Have you experienced the same behavior? I think it is a bug, but could you confirm it for me?

Thanks

Best Regards,
Marek

I've never run into that, and cannot reproduce it now.

I even tried splitting the TruePianos track, moving the MIDI track above the Audio track (my preferred arrangement), and re-making the instrument track. Interestingly SONAR remembers that the track order has been switched when you re-split it. But either way, a dropped MIDI clip ends up in the MIDI part of the Simple Instrument Track for me.

Can you reproduce it consistently with a new project built from scratch? I've observed all kinds of weird stuff like this with X1 projects that were based on projects from much older versions of SONAR or even Cakewalk .WRK files. Even re-saving old projects in X1 does not seem to set all the project file parameters correctly for some things.
