How to install Melodyne as a plugin.
I just downloaded 1.3 version of Melodyne and need to install it in SP 8.3 64bit as a plugin. Since I haven't purchased a comprehensive guide since SP7 and the manual with the product has no info I appeal to the forum. ( I have a new guide on the way) Evergreen

Simply open the install app.... or follow the installation instructions that came with Melodyne. It should install itself into a folder in C:\Program files called Celemony. If it asks if you want to use the default install, say yes.... it should include the PLUG IN as one of the default options. I think it will also run stand alone, although I do not use it like that. Once it is installed, simply go into Sonar, navigate to the plug in manager, and add the Melodyne folder in Celomony that contains the DLL file to the plug in list. Run a SCAN and melodyne should now be available in the audio FX list. You might need to restart Sonar... but I don't think so. After the scan it should be there ready to go.

Perfect post, Guitar - Evergreen, it's just like getting any other plug-in loaded up for your Sonar arsenal. Don't you ever download and prep freebies from KVR and the like? It's all the same.-- In any case, do what Guitar says - Soon you'll be Melodyned. RB

Unfortunately the scan didn't recognize the Melodyne plugin. I have a feeling that I will have to un-install and go through the install/upgrade process. I am going to sent a note to Melodyne for there advice. PS Next time you are in Wilmington give me a call at 910-279-7291

Evergreen, are you positive that you added the Melodyne location in the Plug-In Manger's list of locations to scan? (either that, or did you copy the Melodyne .dll file to your master VST folder?) RB

K, I have he same issue... I tried all the above tips & it still doesn't show in the fx bin... I did the program scan thing, which it didn't seem to find a plugin in the folder & tried a copy & paste thing into a folder that had working plugins w/o luck... Could I be missing a step to load it?

Find the folder that has the Melodyne DLL file. In Sonar, you have to add that folder to the list of folders for Sonar to scan. It only scans the folders you tell it to scan. It doesn't search your disk drive to find it. After you run the scan, look in the Utilities-Cakewalk Plug-In manager. Select VST Audio Effects (VST) and then scroll through the list of Registered Plug-Ins. If its in that list, then make sure its listed in the Plug-In Menu Layout that you're using.

Alright... I'm clearly not get'n it... 1st off, Melodyne works perfect in stand alone mode. 2ndly I have successfully add a .dll Antares Harmony files to the fx bins 3rdly i'm use'n Sonar X2a Producer & Melodyne Essentials Here is what I'm do'n step by step: - open Sonar - open Utilities -> Cakewalk Plug-in Manager - Click on Options - add the Celemony folder from the program files folder - click scan - watch it scan - see it scan the Celemony folder - watch the scan finish - see 9 types of plugins - click on each type & search through the plugins for Celemony or Melodyne - don't see them in the various directories So, I suck at this game...

Did you point Sonar to the 64-bit Melodyne folder in C:\Program Files not the 32-bit folder C:\Program Files (x86)?

2ndly I have successfully add a .dll Antares Harmony files to the fx bins This is confusing. You should right click the Fx bin on an audio track and then select Audio Fx and then select the effect from that list. It may be hiding in one of the folders so you have to check all of them if you don't see it right away. Also select Plug-In Layout and select Default All Plugins to make sure all installed effects are listed.

I just installed Antares Evo in my new computer this morning and had similar issues. First I had to create a folder for the autotune dll file to sit within the vst folder. It only had the dll file itself. Then I added that folder to the scan search within the plugin manager. It's now working properly. (I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computers so I might not be using the correct terminology...)

Well... The comment about the Antares was just to basically point out that I've loaded other plugins & they worked. I still can't get it to show up as plugin... The computer isn't attached to the Internet so, I'll try to take some video of what I'm do'n and post a link...

Did you notice the "Configure as tempo based effect"-part in Celemonys instructions?
