surprise. Two ASIOCARDS RUNNING WITH MME drivers......

Today I installed for fun and giggles the MME drivers of both my RPC-1 and RME DIGI9636. And voila... 64 sample playback. I can now record with my SI-24 interface and playback over my DM24 connected over adat to the RME. All with pristine audioquality at 48khz-24 bit...

I run Windows 7 32 bit. I have a core 2 quad 9660 3GHZ with 4GB ram system.... I'm stunned I can use both interfaces.

I have tweaked the OS to run at full throttle. And I have now worked for 4 hours with the system with no hickups...

I'm stunned...

ADAT allows you to sync the 2 cards.  that's not the surprising part - you can do that any time with any cards that have ADAT.

it's also not surprising that they both work in MME driver mode.  the only surprising part is that they would work under MME using low latency and not have dropouts.

One is R-bus and the other is ADAT. So they are not linked. But still do not have any dropouts at those low sample settings.... It sounds very good. So.... I dunno... I have allready completed a song. With BFD2 and OMNISPERE. Pretty heavy on the OS and DAW. But it seems to be rocksolid....

if they're not linked then I suggest that you will likely have problems if you record audio on each device.  try this:  record 3 minutes of audio on one of the devices.  then play that track back while recording another audio track using the other device at the same time.  are your tracks still in sync at the end of 3 minutes?

So how many inputs would that give you if you say, recorded a live band?? And ya, would they be in sync? I'm curios to find out. For me I could potentially have 20 inputs if it worked.

I do have MTC setup. I have a Tascam DM24 attached. I will test your scenario.

If this works I will have 24 in and 24 out.
If needed I can clock the R-bus over SPDIF from the TASCAM. Then the drifting should be eliminated.

I'm simply amazed that 64 samples is working...

recording audio did not give any problems.
Some strange thing with Omnisphere did happen. But perhaps this was just once.... It's audiotempo did not sync.
