Good stuff Martin, really enjoyed this track. Very nice arrangement, I like the way you developed the themes then dropped it all out at 3:03.

Sorry not quite convincied by this, I was sucked in and thought I was going to be hearing celtic music, this is more 80's powerballad.
Don't get me wrong, well played, mixed, once again just listening to it through my crap speakers.
There is a song here in OZ called The Voice by a guy called John Farnham, horrible stuff, you have stolen the main melody from that.
Look you will never hear a bad word from me, when you can put together music really well like this but yea the cheese factor is a bit too much for me.

Hi Ben You mean 'You're The Voice'? yes I know that from the 80's listening to it now... I agree that's power ballad territory but I cannot hear my melody from that piece (and I agree is turgid stuff). It's possible the chord structure is similar... and I certainly did not go out of my way to rip off another tune but there's always a risk (subconsciously that I may end up doing that). I know there are loads of example out there of groups with melodies from other artists.... take Coldplay v Joe Satriani case recently... and another Coldplay track 'Viva La Vida' sounds like Alizee's J'en Ai Marre.. http://youtu.be/LButjtcMl1I I personally believe the Coldplay chaps didn't rip off those 2 artists consciously whether they like Satriani or Alizee who knows but it might have been a subconscious thing. If anything, I was thinking of tracks from Mike Oldfield'd Voyager album when I did this. Anyway you're entitled to your opinion and that's cool! And we all know what opinions are like!! As that is one of my favourite sayings... so respect for that!! Martin

Thanks Brother for understanding my style, it was just a couple of cadences I could hear (YTV), nobody could tell, it was just one of those moments where you go I know those few notes and you start singing along.

I know one thing for sure; everything that can be written has been written. I don't think there is a song anywhere that someone can't say, "hey that sounds like....". Anyway, I don't get the celtic that I'm used to but it's ok, it's a nice tune. Well done.

Yep, I totally agree! Everything I hear reminds me of someone else... if anything my influence on this track was Mike Oldfield... even if we think something we have written is original sounding, sub-consciously we have been influenced by our favourite artists. There's no getting away from it...

Nice. I've been a fan of this genre for a long time. It's what got me interested in synths in the first place.

Hi Martin - Another hugely atmospheric piece from the Maestro. The opening is (at least to me!) pure Celtic and I could easily see this as a pipe band slow march. The development is superb and immediately reminded me of the Beltane Fire Society in Edinburgh and their stunning Celtic Fire celebrations - I could easily imagine this piece introducing one of their dazzling videos. A great piece.

thanks.. I overlaide the drums, one made up from Battery rhythms and the other from ezdrummer... yuo are right though, drums aren't my strong point as I concetrate more on the melodies and other instramentation...

I can hear the similarities as mentioned already, but that just happens sometimes - I've done it myself quite accidentally. Enjoyed the listen though, enough going on to keep it interesting. Not too sure about the drum sounds, maybe they will grow on me, but my initial reaction was that they don't sound quite right in this context.
