no audio device ?
Hi, I took a long break from recording. well about a year and a half. we moved and I never set it back up. I still have MC4, Now I am ready to record again. I have a problem though, When I click on mc4 for it to load it says there are no audio devices for current driver model, please go to options/audio and choose a different driver model. I go to options/audio and there are no choices for me. playback timing master says none and no other options. record time master doesn't even give me an option to select anything. I am still using ASIO. any suggestions? thanks Kevin

Kev, are you making sure that the interface is plugged in and turned no BEFORE you open MC4? If it is USB that is critical.

I get that from time to time. I think the Saffire loses it's communication. I simply shut down both the computer and the interface, and do a restart. After the restart, playback has sound again. Also, be sure you have the proper channels (midi channels) set up in the synth. Kontakt is one that I have to remember to set the proper midi channel INSIDE of Kontakt or it won't play.

ok, I switched it to wdm driver mode and got sound. it let me switch the master to fast track pro. I switched it back to asio and no sound. I remember there was a way to make the asio driver work but I dont remember

What operating system are you using? Did you disable the onboard sound card? Normally, it would be automatically bypassed when you select ASIO since very few stock sound cards have ASIO drivers. Speaking of drivers, what is listed and selected under Options>Audio>Drivers?

I have Vista on my lappy & MC4. So that combo will work fine. I didn't see what interface you use. BUT... on my Dell lappy I was able to have MC4 working on the ASIO drivers and the stuff in the lappy were able to use their drivers and play through the factory card, all at the same time. Have you reinstalled the ASIO drivers for your interface? It's possible that they were corrupted somehow in the time between. I'd grab some updated drivers from the net and see if that solves it.
