Ozone 5.01 Released - Take Note Cakewalk
Ozone just released an update to Ozone 5 to fix some clicking issues when transitioning between modules. This is just a couple of weeks after it was released. In the meantime, Cakewalk still hasn't fixed the PRV / snap / drum map issues months after X1c was released. And X1e still has the FX bin click and drag bug. Take note Cakewalk!

I can hear it now: "Noel, do you think we should fix these bugs that people have been complaining about?" "Nah. What do whiners and complainers know about a good way to run a business. We'll fix it when it's a problem in my personal studio." Lets ask this: Do you think Ozone was released with the clicks in place and a fix being worked out to satisfy a marketing timeline? Or, do you think that they actually fixed it, tested it and released it within a couple of weeks? Brian

the question around the release manager's table is only whether they are show-stoppers That's a good point. And considering what Ozone is and does, clicking noises when switching modules just might be considered a high prioity issue. Is (or was) there any type of workaround in the original v5 release? Still running v3 here, and trying to justify the $150 to upgrade...

Unfortunately for me, it would be $79 to upgrade from 3 to 4, and $99 from 4 to 5. So the $150 to go from 3 to 5 is the best deal. I'm just trying to work out whether it's really worth $150 (for me) at this point. It sure does look nice though...

What are these clicks of which you speak and how can I get some? @ SteveC: if you're on O3.... the upgrade to O5 will be worth it IMHO. I bought O3 and was about a month off to get the O4 upgrade for free. So I did buy it. It was quite a nice improvement over 3...so if the same is true now, 5 will be a really nice upgrade from 3 and that makes me think about moving up the food chain to 5 as well...... likely after the holidays..... they might offer a better incentive to do so as January comes into view on the calender.

Hi, Being totally new to Ozone, I like to know how is Ozone authorization done ? Does it requires a dongle ? Question about Ozone Advanced also, from the website, it seems to show 1) more metering option 2) a plug-in manager that organize various Ozone components What can Advanced version do, that regular version cannot ? ..the detail difference is actually mentioned at Ozone's website on the specific component tab. Thanks!

No dongle... it's a software key... type or copy the authorization code key (IIRC) and click OK.... shazammmm ! ready to rock & roll. Do it once... done!

I mean some of what the sep. units are I have already by other brands. I use t-racks singles and other things e.g. psp things, d16. if they had it cheaper then I would really would have been interested, but they have done with what NI have done.. basic.. OR super-super sized.. ( NI aren't getting my money because they carried on stink ) .. I'll go for ozone will for the basic version, fore sure. also other things of interest to me 2c audio have a sale on things as well.

"if they had it cheaper then I would really would have been interested, but they have done with what NI have done.. basic.. OR super-super sized.." Izotope have approached it like Steinberg do with their DAWs. 90 percent of the way there program (Cubase, Ozone5) and then the 100 per cent program with a few more professional features (nuendo, O5 advanced) for 3 times the price. It would cost me $99 to upgrade to O5 but after demoing it, it is not worth it. (For me)
