VS-20, Sonar 8.5 and recording edrums?

I am considering in buying me a VS-20 so that i could make mobile recordings.

I have a Roland TD3 set and Sonar 8.5 producer and i was hoping to get me a 'remote' controller to easen up the recording procedure of the drums.

Here's the question: Is it possible to set VS-20 up so that you can use it as a controller to arm and record a midi track in Sonar? So that i would define a track in Sonar as a drum track, set up Session Drummer for that and then just select the track in VS-20 and press record and Sonar would record the midi?

Thanks for your helpful answers in advance!

Yes, to everything you ask Tapio.

There's a Track Group selector to change the focus to any of four sets of eight tracks - use this to ensure your drum synths MIDI track is in the active group. Then simply use the appropriate Track Select button to arm it. The VS-20 has transport buttons for Return To Project Start, Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop, Play and Record - so as you can see, you can navigate around your project, arm and record etc quite easily with just the VS-20, no need to resort to your computer's mouse or keyboard!

It's also a great tool for mixing - real faders are always easier to use than mouse-dragging, and the included BOSS guitar effects are very good too.

If you send me a PM with your e-mail address, I'll happily send you the VS-20 PDF manual so you can have a good look at its capabilities.

    Hope that helps.

Wow, this gadget is really cool! Fiddled with it last night, and found it easy and painless to use. This makes capturing up ideas really fast! Recommended!

The guitar to bass effect could be more realistic and accurate. Any ideas?
