If your running Sonar 64bit, try changing the synth from running through bit bridge to JBridge. If you don't have JBridge, you may want to get it as some plugs/synths work better with it than bb. In the plug in manager select the plug and click on properties. You can check a box to have JB run the plug.

Some people are running Eco in 64 bit Sonar without JBridge, but my experience is I need Jbridge as Ecowas causing teleport server (Sonar's bit bridge) to crash occasionally. JBridge is 14.99 Euros (approx $20) Your options, other than JBridge. Install the 32 bit version of Sonar along side the 64 bit. A lot of people do this for difficult 32 bit plugins. Lobby FXExpansion for a 64 bit version of ECO - That will be the best long term solution.

You can try increasing the buffer size for midi in the midi options.

It works fine and the only thing is I paid a lot more than you did!

All I can say is that once you get it running consider upgrading to BFD2, it's 64-bit and works here flawlessly. Bill

Make sure to download the latest build from the FXpansion website... and Angus has posted on KVR that they are working on a 64 bit version. Cheers, Rail www.platinumsamples.com

I'm surprised you say the kits sound a little weak, what are you comparing them to I wonder? Some of the processed kits don't sound so good to my ears but that was always why I preferred BFD eco and BFD 2 to it's competitors as I thought the kits sounded much more natural and raw to my ears. There is indeed a demo for registered owners of BFD Eco so once registered, if you go to, support/downloads, you'll find you can download a demo of BFD2 but obviously you wont get any of the kits but you'll be able to see it's mixing capabilities and other advanced features. And it'll be 64bit too. Obviously you'll be able to use the kits that come with Eco in BFD 2. Not sure if you'll need to authorise them again (?) BFD 2 has many more features, here are just a few things BFD 2 has that Eco doesn't. (some of them may of course be of no use or interest to you) In BFD 2 you can have up to 32 slots for your kit pieces and can load any kit piece into any slot (Eco has 12 and they can not be changed) You can route these slots/channels to any of your DAW's outputs (Eco chooses them for you) BFD 2 is 55GB in size and has 10 different kits all at 24bit and up to 96 velocity layers. BFD 2 has a few more effects than Eco and comes with a more comprehensive version of overlouds breverb as well as a PSP's vintage warmer. It has some fantastic mixing features, some of which I would love to see in sonar. If I want to add an auxiliary channel for my snare I simply, cntrl select my 3 snare channels and then holding the "alt" key click on the +aux button and an auxiliary channel appears adjacent to my snare that is already named and routed. As well as overhead and room channels you also get direct and ambient channels. You get a drum edit page where you an laod grooves and edit them as you would in sonar. I'm so used to using sonar I didn't bother with the one in BFD 2 though and I don't use midi loops as I prefer to role my own. Mixing drums is almost as steep a learning curve as learning a new DAW (but not as steep as learning X1) and I found it very daunting at first but after reading lots and watching some tutorials for BFD 2 (of which there ought to be more) I am so glad I did. This is a good one but the guy goes so fast I had to watch it a gazillion times but I thought the sound he got and the end was awsome and that's not a word I use often. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0oEN3P73pk Cheers Steve

I've used Eco on and off for the last 5 or so months with and without Jbridge (currently without) I did have one "teleport server" hang without Jbridge which was why I started using it and didn't get it after. But as I've said elsewhere I own BFD 2 so don't use Eco so much. Steve
