African Silent Night - Remixed version and added video

Hi again,

We decided to remix this song.

On the mix:
pulled drums into the center
Made bass drum heavier
Added more reverb to lead
Homing background vocals panned to outside on L & R
Brought the entire volume mix louder

Attempted to master:
Mixed tracks down and imported mix back into sonar to add more eq, compression & volume

Added slide show for viewing enjoyment:
Slide show created in Adobe Premiere CS4
audio track was converted from .wav file to mp3 192kp
Entire video was mixed down to a .mov file for loading on youtube

New mix on youtube

Merry Christmas friends!

Old mix on soundclick for comparison

Blessings.

Got to be the most popular seasonal tune on this forum, we even did version last year! This is joyous and soulful, love it.

I wonder why African music makes Christmas songs sound so good?!

But this is stellar! Beautiful recording and a great version of the song. It really got me into the Christmas mood:D

Wow. I just listened to Herb's version. What a contrast.
I think the song itself is so profoundly beautiful that it inspires us to play or sing it from the heart.
This certainly is. There is something deliciously honest about African music, and this is no exception.
    Just wonderful.

I enjoy your music and I remember this from last year.  Really great arrangement.  Do you guys watch The Sing Off.  I hear the vocal bass bottom there and it's really great.
