Kirk Hunter Brass not working for me
I bought the KHS Brass library thru the group buy for a nice price. I'm running in Win7 64bit standalone Free Kontakt4 Player. When I try to open an instrument Kontakt4 doesn't find the samples. Will I need the non-Free Kontakt 5? Or am I missing something obvious?

I'd re-check the instructions that comes with the library. Sounds like a pathway error. I don't know the library but I know he gives instructions on how to name things and where to put them.

They are for use in Kontakt 4 (although you can use 5 too) so that won't be the problem. It'll say something like this: Inside the folder you created, also create another folder and name it "Samples". The name "Samples" is important. It has to be exactly as he says.

Thanks, strikinglyhandsome1 (amazing! I almost chose that same moniker ) . So far, I haven't found where the installation is wrong. The instructions are specific about creating a folder name of your choice: [size=2 font="verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif"]"INSTALLATION: 1. Create a new folder where you want your new library to reside. Name this folder anything you wish. 2. Download the files (including "bonus files" shown at the bottom of this page) into the new folder you created and then unzip them. You should now have the following list: ...<snip the list of zip file names> Now, you can open any of the instrument files from within Kontakt 4. " No naming suggestions at all. Their screen shots in the user manual show navigating to the folder via the Kontakt browser and opening an instrument - which is what I did. Kontakt then complained about not finding 6000+ sample files and gave me an opportunity to manually browse for them - which I did. Kontakt still did not recognize them. Does the FREE player possibly only work with the samples it comes with?

Did you buy the full Consert Brass, or one of the divisions? I bought the whole division, so the other divisions and solo samples is not there. I did a batch resave in Kontakt and skipped the missing samples. Looks all good here. I'm on Kontakt 4 btw...

Have you checked all the dowloaded files are where they should be. It's usually to do with placement or names of folders. edrummist will probably know. I don't want to guess as I've not done it with this library. I remember having a spot of bother with Slate stuff.

Full version, well you shouldn't be missing any samples when you have the whole package. I'm not sure if it does work with the free kontakt Player. Maybe send Kirk an email to be sure ? I'll see if I have the free player and try to load it there.

Concert Brass 2: Full version of Kontakt 4 or newer, NOT the player-only version that ships with other libraries.

Yeah, just checked the website, no Kontakt Player ;____Full version of Kontakt 3.5 (not the player) or newer with compatible Machintosh or Windows Machine. Please do not attempt to run this library in other platforms that claim to be able to translate Kontakt libraries. This library heavily uses the Kontakt Scripting which makes translations very unreliable. NOTE: Any TVEC 3 upgrades require the full version of Kontakt 4 or newer.

I'm sorry I mised it too. But, it could be worse... NI is having a half price sale on Kontakt5 so, I guess that'll be my next stop.
