Indian samples

Hi Folks,

I note with sadness that Native Instruments has discontinued it's series of Indian instrument samples. Is there any other alternative with similar quality that anyone is aware of? Please do let me know. Thanks.

    Have you tried Swar Systems? They provide a huge sample library of very high quality along with the vsti.

    I have the the Sitar Nation sitar/tambura/tabla/baya  Kontakt library from impactsoundworks:

    I think it's a pretty decent 2.7GB library. But different sitar sounds are pretty varied and this one is more "lots of variations of one sitar" rather than "wide variety of sitar sounds". IOW, if you like the basic sound of it, it's a nice library, so check out the demos.

    [EDIT: I should add that you need the full version of Kontakt for this.

    And that a bit less than half of the discontinued NI North India Kore pack samples are already included with Kontakt's bundled libraries]

    Have you tried Swar Systems? They provide a huge sample library of very high quality along with the vsti.

    And they also provide alot of midi of authentic Indian phrases for each instrument.

    Downside - needs an iLock and only part of the content is Indian.

    MOTU Ethno Instrument 2 also has some nice Indian stuff.

    Ethno World 5 Professional might also be worth looking into.
