IK ARC Issue

I must have done the stand alone test about 5 times with about 16 positions each time.
I save the preset, all is well and I hit finish.
I open X1P, create a second Master Buss so I dont have to mess with the original. Open ARC and it telles me  have to do a stand alone first, that there's no presets.
I go to the search function on my PC and lo and behold there they are, all 5 of them, but the PC cannot locate them.
I I hover the pionter over them it telles me where they are but when I look there, there's not a one in sight.

Running Windows 7 64 with more then enough umph for this task.

Any Ideas?

Not clear when you say 'open arc'. You inserted an instance of arc in your master buss, not opened the standalone with a project open, right?

    Yeah, sorry.
I insert it in the FX bin on the buss as a VST.
I googled this but it seems I'm the only one with this issue.
There were a few others but they actually located the preset files in the IK folder where they belong.

Got tired, long day setting up studio and software. Maybe a re install again might do the trick.

are you certain that you're not mixing 32bit and 64bit versions?  they are named the exact same in sonar so you can't tell the difference by the name or even by opening it since bitbridge is transparent.  if you were to open the 32bit and save the preset then close it and open the 64bit I don't think you'd have any presets saved.

    Thanks Beacon.
Being that I'm running Windows 64 I would figure that the stand alone would automatically open in 64 bit mode, correct?
And in Sonar I have tried using jBrige with and without.
When used it brings up some bridge incompatibility warning with a string of numbers about 30 characters long. So I turn it off lol.
After that, ARC opens fine but none of the functions work.
I have a ticket in with IK too but was hoping someone here had an answer quicker.

well, IIRC when I opened in standalone mode I didn't have the 64bit version at the time.  then when I got the 64bit version it had the presets I made in 32bit mode, so thinking back, I think you're right.

I would suggest that you try the 64bit version and see if that helps, tho.

    Mike,
Make sure where the IK installer put the 64 bit dll.
If I remember right I moved the x64 dll.
In the x32 path ARC is in its own sub folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\ARC\ARC.dll"
    x64 is in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\ARC.dll"
Since the paths are different, I'm sure that I'm loading the x64 dll (in Sonar x64) or the x86 dll (Sonar x86 or x32 if you prefer) and both are using the same preset.

Haha Tom. You must be a mind reader.
I just created an C:IK Multimedia\ARC folder under Program Files, not the x86 one, and installed it there (C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins).

    Same results.

And yes the DLL was there.
I did look in the x86 vst folder and saw an 'jBridgeARC' entry there so I deleted it.
    Now to try again.

The path for the filter files should be C:\Program Files (x86)\IK Multimedia\ARC System\filters

Are you SURE that the x64 dll is in that folder?
    There are 2 separate dll's.

Im not sure the 64 bit version is even installing.
Are there 2 different programs or should one program install both versions?

Yes dll's in both folders. Both filters folders empty

do you have UAC turned ON (default), mike?  I didn't have any problems with it installing and could easily see my dlls in the appropriate folders.  I'm wondering if UAC is preventing it from installing correctly?

    Mike,
The install path on my system is "C:\Program Files (x86)\IK Multimedia\ARC System".
The x86 dll is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\vstplugins"
    The x64 dll is in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins"
The 32 bit dll is 196kb and the 64 bit dll is 211kb; if that helps.
All my IK products are in the "Program Files (x86)" path, for what that's worth.

    Thanks brothers.
The issue turned out to be faulty user as usual.
After Initial install I got so exicet to test it out I forgot to check for updates.

IK informed me I was on version 1.0.2 an 1.3.1 was available on the website and would fix the issue

I uninstalled and remove all IK ARC files I could find and started from scratch and then updated.
I was greeted by a screen asking which mic I was using so it was different right from the get go.

All files and folders are now as Tom stated above and all is working well.
This ARC and my HS80M's are very flat and impressive.

Going to strip down a project I've never been happy with an start with ARC from the get go and learn my new monitors and see how it turns out and translates to other systems.

Thanks for all the help gents.
