Arrgghhh! Firefox update, I did it after all!!

I've been using an older version of Firefox, and everything's been fine. Every time I've opened it, I've been suggested an update, but I've prevented it. Now, being a bit tired and absent I allowed the update. A short visit to this forum showed that the damage is done. Could not quote messages etc.

So, I reverted my system backwards, which led to Firefox being totally disabled. Now I'll have to download the newest, buggy version if I want to use FF !!
Really annoying, and the more so because my laptop is now very, very sluggish in all internet actions.

Any ideas for a cure, anyone?

SOLVED easily. I found the older FF file and re-installed it. I was also offered a link to a site for downloading older FF-versions.

Do a restore to a former date?   Maybe that will help.

I foolishly allowed FF to update..... I use it to surf the net but here on the forum, I use Opera and Chrome depending on which computer I'm on.

I did the restore, which paralysed Firefox and made the whole machine sluggish.

A very useful link for the future, thank you!

But the cure was easier than I thought in my moments of irritation. I found the FF 4 file I downloaded and it seems everything is ok now.

    Thanks!

I finally gave up and went to CHROME. It imported everything from my firefox and I was up and running in about 5 minutes looking pretty much the same as firefox but running at least twice as fast. no up time learning how to use it.

I went to Chrome, too. It's easy to import everything from Firefox, it is f-a-s-t-e-r and every site I visit has worked just perfectly.

I find Chrome works basically like Internet Explorer 9 on all the sites I've visited.  If a site has a pop up or pop under, Chrome will allow it like I.E.  But FF will block these, even the lastest crappy version.

I used to have Opera.  I'm going to have to try it again.
