Sketch of a new blues song - just an idea

Just started on my first blues song called "Whole Lotta' Lovin'".  No other lyrics yet and it's incomplete.  I jammed out the vocal in two takes and lead guitar was done after playing the track over and over again.  I am going to try to "pull" lyrics out of what I sung.  I think this song will be sung by a female blues singer.  It could be about her having a whole lotta lovin for her man and also a whole lotta pain 'cause she's on the road and won't see him for a while.  I could use your feedback.  Do you like the idea?

http://soundcloud.com/jimmy-saad/whole-lotta-lovin

Thanks.

Jimmy, yea, this could end up being a really cool tune - I really like this.

Isn't that the name of a Zepplin tune? (not that it matters)

Very cool - love the vocals.

This has lot's of potential. I'm not sure about the female vox. Your sounds great.

    Thanks Guitarpima,
I usually sing country but this idea just came out of nowhere.  I appreciate the vote of confidence.

    Hey Jimmy,
GREAT start!  From the instrumentation to the tempo it really has that live CHICAGO blues club vibe.  I can hear a woman singing but I really like your vocals. Maybe both could sing harmonies on the hook. GREAT job looking forward to the finished piece.

I can see where you would want a female vocalist.  If you listen to our songs you'll hear that I have female singers whenever possible.  I think Kev was talking about male and female vocals.  I can hear an "answer back" type of arrangement here.  It's blues, you can go anywhere you want with it.  Keep on workin' buddy!  Oh, I did hear Motown in this.

Thanks to all for your kind remarks.  I hope to knock out the structure this weekend.  I have a guest artist that wants to play bass on it.

Clean: Thanks.  The Zepplin tune was "Whole Lotta Love".  Mine is "Whole Lotta Lovin'" LOL!
    Guitarhacker:  Thanks for listening.
Drumstixkev: Maybe I will sing the final afterall.  Maybe the duet approach.  We'll see.  Appreciate your comments very much.
Daryl: I didn't think of Motown but I grew up with it and maybe it's now seeping out in this song.  Thanks much.
Starise: Thanks for the comments.  I am going to add an instrument break section for a few bars and then hit the hook softly and then build to the end (I think!).
    Danny: Much appreciate your comments.
Old55: Thank you for listening too!
Evadianepug: Thanks too.  The "answer back" might work well.  I will probably finish it first and then see if that will make it better.

You all are great to comment.

Shoot... you got a good structure there. Try just writing whatever comes to mind, don't worry about it making sense or about where it is going just let it loose from inside. If it turns out to be junk you can throw it in the trash but I bet it wont all be junk. Sometimes you can get good lyrics that way then tweak them or add/delete parts.
I would absolutely nix the female singer idea and make it your song, you sound just fine. Let the words come from where ever the music came from, heck you already have the idea, just build around it. Listen to it and play it in the evening before bed and you might get something as you are going to sleep or you might wake up with something.
Some songs dont have very many words and some of the best songs just have that one line or two that is repeated a lot, people relate and sing along... (thats when you have a hit). Don't be too picky about the words, you'll make it harder than it has to be.

I got to love you babe, as long as I live.. got a whole lot of lovin babe, I gotta give.
I gotta give you my lovin baby, as long as I live... a lotta lovin' baby a whole lot to give.

    Seems to me,
    you can't see;
    all the lovin,
    I gotta give.
A lotta lovin baby.... I gotta give to you
    Baby I can't live
if I can't give... all my lovin to you.

I need to see you baby,
    what can I do?
I need to see if maybe,
    we can work it through.
'cause I got a lot of love babe, a lotta lovin for you
I got a lot of lovin, I got to give it to you, come on baby

    You said you loved me,
    then what did you do?
    I turned around,
and you say that we were through
now come on baby... what do I got to do?
I got a lot of lovin, to give to you, a lotta lovin...
baby what am I to do?

    come on baby....

That is really incomplete but maybe it will help spark some ideas?

Just write stuff... there ain't nothing new. You already have the hook and the music.

I love dem blues... but like you most things I write come out country and its funny because I never have been a big country fan.

Oh yeah, totally Chicago. I love where the drums hunker down at 1:08.
I can hear a female vocalist, but she can't be sweet about it. Sultry, smokey, and just a wee bit nasty.
I like what you have so far, and your ideas sound interesting. Looking forward to hearing where this goes.

Hey, they may be junk or you make like them. I posted them (I hope it wasn't presumptious... I mean well) for you to use for inspitation, to use or tweak and use or anything... I don't care. I just think it is a good song and hope I didn't speak out of turn, as it were.
