I am happy to be factually corrected, but  CW is now majority Roland owned - it is now a [ majority ]  owned Japanese company.

CW still does all the software  but Roland does all  the hardware.

Thats the reason why CW staff here cant tell you/me/anyone  *with actual corporate certainlty*  anything about VS changes or its future - because they too dont know.

Its also amazing that in trying to get the VS off-the-ground that Roland didnt try some aggressive price marketing when it became  [ very ]  clear  [ quite ]  early on that the VS was not taking off as hoped.

I dont use a VS but I do share your views and frustrations.

Yeah you're right Timboe but do they ever talk to each other? Can a Cake staff take the infos and tell us here?

If there are answers only Roland can tell, why in hell DON'T THEY COME HERE ONCE A YEAR at least....  or make a statement or move the forum I don't know.

Let's say (insert a cake staff name here) come here and say:

"Sorry guys, we have done our very best to give you the best integration we could but due to marketing decisions we don't have the necessary ressources  to fully support the VS for the years to come. Expect us to do our best to keep you running but we can't garanty full support for the nexts Sonar's versions.  We sincerely apologies and hope you will still enjoy the VS with it's current capabilities for a long time."

Won't we be grateful to hear this at last? THAT would be awesome. At least we could EXACTELY know what's up even if that's not what we would like to hear. That would be fair. This way I would still trust their will to help and respect their "elite" costumers.

The result would not be " Alright everyone! Let's kill (insert a cake staff name here)!!!!" but rather thanking him/her for an honnest and trustable response. We could this way talk and know what to expect or not and offer the VS a smouth passage to the other side rather than a radical eradication without meaning.

    That's what I think.

Over 4 years out now and there hasn't been one deal for the V -studio setup , At least not in America , Deals were offered in Canada and the UK but never in the USA..  Seems weird considering Cakewalk is an American Company merged with a Japanese , To me it seems Cakewalk just dosen't care about there own. OR they have zero Say..Why even put the CW name on it ..you should of called it Honda then..  Very upsetting to see a great product be buried alive.

Sorry I went off-topic again, prices will probaby drop dramatically when they will decide to officially discountinue it  like they did with the ARX and countless other products.

True, prices will probably drop after NAMM and definitely when it's discontinued or when a newer product is officially announced. Sales are still as expected, and advertised prices have to remain constant and full to prevent devaluing the newer product that comes after the VS-700 system. The prices of the current VS-700R & maybe the 700C will definitely come down, it's a matter of when, now or later. Prices for all products come down before being discontinued.
