Encore...
Since some folks have been posting Chirstmas repeats... I wrote this arrangement years ago and recorded this right after I got my first DAW... so I had no idea what the hell I was doing. I would like to re-record this again some day given all the recording and mixing knowledge I've gained since then, not to mention a whole lot of really cool hardware and instruments. It's my favorite Chirstmas thing I've done so far and it just goes to show what a few well placed jazz chords can do to transform an otherwise perfectly good song. Hopefully this version of Jingle Bells will take you to a new place. Hi Daryl,
I am too much of a newbie to give and technical advice but I can comment as a listener... First off,that is really great for having been done when you were just starting to record!
It really starts to shine when the guitars start but I think you already knew that.
The only other thing is, IMO, I thing a bit of swing would help it. At first I thought the tempo was a little slow but then I thought, no.. just some swing... IMO.
I enjoyed it, especially the guitar tracks. You really should revisit it. I would love to hear them side by side, to see how you have progressed in production, that would be interesting to me.
Anyway... good work!

Beautiful arrangement. I love your lead guitars and at the end in harmony! Very warm and inviting. You are a great touch for lead. Emotion before technique - feeling before mechanics. I am sure you know what I mean. Great job.

Yeah, very nice arrangement. I, for one would love to hear this updated now that you have a few years and a whole ton of experience under your belt.
I could see this version in a movie...late at night, the lead character walking home alone....snow falling, christmas lights shining in the few stores that are still open.....

That's exactly what I was thinking :-) Nice job. It has a very mellow and flowing feeling to it. I like the subtle acoustic guitar on the right and the chimes in the background.

While this wasn't the very first thing I did with my first DAW it was close and I like the arrangement so well that a I just might give it another go at some point. Maybe when I do my second Christmas CD.... and I have been considering it.....

Thanks again to all, I'm glad you like the arrangement as it's one I've always felt pretty good about. Janet, I wrote this arrangment on my daughters electric piano about 5 years before I got back into music and recording (after a long hiatus), which is why I started it with the piano, because that's what it was,: I would love to hear you play it. My original intention was to just add the nylon string guitar, but then of course, I had to bring in the electric at that point. I wish I would have had my mandolin then, I would have had to use that too!

I don't do jazz as well as you do, so I doubt if I could improve on your playing.

Beautiful job on this classy sounding, smooth jazz version of Jingle Bells! Everything sounds great, I really love the intimate sounding guitar tones on both the acoustic and electric, and the playing is excellent, as always.
