Mister6, Wonderful guitars and melody. Very sad song. I long for something to say how warm the love was in contrast to the cold rain. Thanks for sharing this. Rimshot

It sounds quite nice here. I would be tempted to fade the rain slightly sooner at about 0:12:00, with possibly a fade to nothing around 1:10:00 just a thought. Mixed on the 20/20's? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. Thank you. I still think about that fading out sooner, and it's possible I will change that before making the CD. I don't know what you mean by 20/20's, however. Thank you for the feedback. The song came from the heart. The music is 10 years old. I composed the lyrics initially about an old love, but then I was writing as two of my brothers died last year. The theme drifted.

mister6 but then I was writing as two of my brothers died last year.
Deepest sympathies, man. I'm all too familiar with the mindset, and I can hear it in this. Love those wide, luscious guitars. Overall mix is coming through a tad bright, and I'm hearing a little sibilance on the vocals. The kick drum sounds oddly confined, perhaps a little mid heavy, and wanting a bit more room. That said, I really like this, and yes, the hair on my arms was standing up.

Thank you for all that, I really appreciate a detailed reply. My mixing skills are still evolving, and I do know I've sometimes over-tweaked the vocals. That was the old DAW, and I'm hopeful about the new X1. My drums... those are the sounds of a DMPro played by me with some Roland V-Drums. I'm a man who should stick to his guitars. That's another reason I love X1, since Session Drummer is so flexible. I write a much more realistic midi than anything I can ever play. :)

Nice Steve. Brought me back to 2 years ago when my sister died in December and the time I spent being with her afterwards. It touched me that way. As far as the production crits go, for me, the acous guit is too overpowering. I think mostly in timbre or width, not sure. Maybe just volume. But then, I like a song to speak the rhythm and vocal more. Thanks for posting this.

Lush is the perfect description of the guitars in this, especially the acoustic ones. The Rainfall at the start sets the atmosphere for the song and works well. Nice arrangement and playing. You've got some great tones from the electric guitars. The vocals sound a bit hesitant and restrained and i think if you let go more it would give them more presence. Overall a nice track.
