Music Creator 6 Piano Roll make a chord sound with the mouse
Hi ALL !!! I am new to Music Creator 6 (MC6). Have used Cakewalk extensively and there is something I can't find in MC6. Being in piano roll Cakewalk used to have a button that allowed you to (trigger )sound all notes in the same time or bar; in other words if there were 3 notes at bar 3, for example with the duration of a full note, you could click and trigger the sound of the 3 notes and, of course, hear the chord. Is there a way to do that in MC6??? Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed, I'm not aware of a way to do that. which version of cakewalk did you do that on? must have been a really old version. unless I'm missing something, that's not been available for the last several versions.

This is something I really need; if MC6 does not have this feature I might have to install CW 9.03 again on a XP Partition I still have.

I do not recall that function at all. I had CWP8... and while that was a very long way back, I do not recall that. I'm thinking if i wanted to audition the notes in a given part of a song.... the scrub function would let me sweep the scrub line across the notes I wanted to hear quick enough to hear the chords that would be built from the notes. Going back to CW9 would be a bit extreeme in my book, but.... if it works for you, by all means do it.

I think you are talking about the Scrub tool. Press J on the computer keyboard to turn it on, then drag the cursor across the PRV. I just did it in my MC 6.

Hello 57Gregy, thanks for your valuable help; this is exactly what I was looking for, and it does exactly what I needed. BTW I installed CW9.03 on my Win 7 x64 Ultimate, along with MC6 and both work fine. Regards, Ed

Yeah, the "make a chord sound with the mouse" kinda threw me off at first. I'm glad you got it working, eojeda.
