Here are my thoughts (FWIW).
The mix could use some work. The vocal track is dull (tonally), your performance is really good.
The drums don't feel part of the mix, maybe some verb would help.
Overall the mix feels very mid-rangy, a lot of instruments are overlapping in frequencies and could use with some imaging.
I'm sure this is not helpful as I can't quite put my finger on what I'm hearing.
Others may be more helpful.
Still it's a good song.

Enjoyed the tune. Nice job with harmony / background vocals. Maybe drums a little more forward and guitar slightly back would be my only suggestion. Keep up the good music.

it has a very organic sound to it.
Didn't quite "get the song" but whatever ..... I don't understand a lot of the things I see or hear.....

I am looking for songs to listen to and Fat Jesus sucked me in, I get the lyrics, very tounge in cheek, reminds me of ELP's accoustic songs.
The snare is wrong, that is what people are talking about when they mention the drum. It's too high for the key of this song, detune the snare.
Liked the Tom Petty middle 8.
The toms also sound wrong, all the drums sound like cardboard, this is a mistake a lot of people make.
Ok I didn't mind the song, I got the lyrics, well done.

I like it and "get" the lyrics. Very clever. I have a similar song, theme wise, that nobody "got" either. Nobody even commented on it. Brundlefly gave me a bit of help with it though. It's called, "A Quick Fix." Not the same style of music though.
I like this tune a lot. Everything sounds really together and you have a nice voice for the style.

Very interesting. :) I didn't try too hard to hide my venom, but I don't think the target audience has ever heard it yet.
The drums are what they are. Before now, I was playing live against a click track, but that click track was a recording of my live metronome (an antique TakTel). It can't be translated easily to a midi drum track, much as I may want to, and I sold my kit to pay for all these new X1 toys. I have tried to create a map of the clicks and make that a midi track (X1 can do it), but it's something like 51.3 bpm.... really tough to write.

Hey, great lyrics. I like this the mix started to gell more toward the end but the drums need to come up- a little more snap and maybe get rid of some of the cardboard sound by dipping around 400-500 (at least that's what I try to do).
Not sure what's going in during the outro, but for me that was the most enjoyable part of the song musically.

I'm not worthy to comment, but of course I will.
Liked it on many levels. With the mando and acoustics it could go in an REM direction if the vocal was given some harmonies.
My idea as soon as I heard the vocal timbre and lyric was to ugly it up with some with a bite from electric guitars and some vocal processing in the Lou Reed style. It might be crazy as something kinda raw.
Take no offense, just bouncing some ideas.
