Problem with GTPro3

I spent the last couple of days trying to get this software to work, It's not a hardware issue, I don't think. as I have a trial version of Sonar X1 which runs with no issues.
I have tried setting up GTPro3 the same way as Sonar with no luck.
I'm running a Digitech guitar processor via USB through my SoundMax sound card.
I have Input set as 'DigitechRP155' in
Output set to 'SoundMax 1/3 out' also tried '2/4 out'
Driver mode is set to 'WDM/KS' also tried MME, and 'Asio'
When I select 'Asio' as driver, Soundmax disappears as an output, and although the recording meter shows activity, I have no sound. this is so frustrating! I think I've tried everything, but maybe there's something I'm missing?

    It seems to be working fine now, not sure what changed though, it's working set to 'Asio' as well, it wouldn't even acknowledge before.
