Vocals in MC6?

Does Music Creator 6 offer the basic needs to record decent vocal tracks like reverb? Can I hook a microphone up, record vocals to MC6 and be satisfied with the result?

I am a novice song writer and do it as a hobby.  For my needs, I am extremely pleased with the results when creating a song with vocals in MC6.  There are many effects for audio tracks, including reverb, echo and so many others.  Plus there seems to be quite a market of third party VST effects that work in MC6 as well.  The key is getting a good signal into MC6.  Rather than connect a cheap USB mic to the computer, I am using a $75 mic and have connected it to an audio input device (Lexicon Lambda to be specific).  This is the key for me to all my success.

MC6 is only one part of the equation as to whether you will be satisfied with the results or not.

there are basic reverb plugins availble as well as EQ, compression, and others.

you can plug a microphone up and record.

the rest is a big question - can you mix well?  what mic will you be using?  what soundcard?  lots of other variables when it comes to being "satisfied" with the output.

    Yes and Yes.

The second yes will be determined by the things Beagle mentioned.  The Mic obviously plays a huge part in the quality as does the interface (do not use a USB mic)

After those 2 crucial components, your skills in mixing plays a big part too.

But to answer the question..... yes, you can achieve broadcast quality recordings out of your studio using MC6.

All of the songs on my website (Click on MY MUSIC on the home page) was recorded with MC4 and more recently X1 in my home studio.

    +1 to the guys.
Depends on what you're expecting. If you expect getting pro sounding track without a hi-quality mic and untreated room etc., then the answer is "no", but a decently good quality can be achieved with rather modest means and short practice. And effects, (like delay, which could be considered more important in vocals than reverb) of very nice quality can be downloaded free from various places, in case MC doesn't include something you need.

MC won't be the obstacle, it is definately capable of producing very high quality recordings that can be used anywhere.
