User interface Hall of Fame

If software has a really great user interface it can take you much further than a great piece of kit with an impenetrable interface. Having just acquired the FabFilter Pro suite I just had to find out from other folks here what software they find just is so well done that it makes using it not only a pleasure but a creative enhancement. My current "Hall of Fame" nominee's that I have been privileged to use include the following:

Spectrasonics Omnisphere - An incredible synth with an interface that is simple but unfolds in complexity as you want to go deeper. Further, the patches are ordered by a fantastic tagging system that allows you to quickly zoom in on starting points for sound creation. The included libraries of sounds are really well done.

FabFilter Pro plugins - The EQ is a complete game changer. They just seem to understand what information you need for a task and how to present it in an optimal way.

Honorable mention for Valhalla Room which I just got but have not used enough yet to elevate it to another level. Really nice plug and a great price.

Strangely, Kontakt did not make the cut ;-)

So what does it for you? Let's share!

+1 on all the Spectrasonics stuff and the FabFilter.  But for sheer form follows function it's hard to beat a UAD LA2A or the new WAVES "One Knob" series.

Where you come from is gone...where you thought you were goin to weren't never there...and where you are ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

Too bad that the UDA LA2A requires a UAD DSP card...or so they say. You really can't get much simpler than the Waves plugs lol! Perfect for effects tuning after one too many scotches.
