Music Creator 6 problem
I've just started using MC6, and I'm having a problem with the midi template. When I add notes to the track and play the the whole song, only about half the notes play. However, when I export the song as a wav and play it with windows media, the entire song plays perfectly. I hope I won't have to keep exporting my song just to listen to the individual notes :( Edit: Actually, something seriously wrong must have happened in installation or something. I try using select, then copy/pasting part of the track. As usual only about half the notes play. I then export it, and now there's literally no notes in the .wav file.

we need some more info. what are you using for output of your MIDI? MIDI is data only, not sound, so you have to have a synth for output, either hardware or software synth. what is the output of your MIDI track set to? also, give us your system specs. what soundcard are you using? what operating system? what CPU and RAM?

If this was about SONAR 8 I'd advise to double the "MIDI buffers-prepare using.."-buffer, but I have no idea if this is the same randomly- skipped-MIDI-notes-problem. The latter part of the question, after copy/paste, doesn't sound like the "standard" thing.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Ditto on the more information thing. This could come from any number of issues. All are solvable.

I was having a similar issue where half the notes were playing, used the "MIDI buffers-prepare using.."-buffer as suggested above and it works fine...

this is pretty daunting...I started using cakewalk in 1991 when it was still running on DOS...Granted there were no softsynths and things like that but I feel like I am now rapidly sliding into obsolescence at the age of 48, I can hardly work the TV remote...Not ready to go gently into that good night and at least I can still play guitar almost as good as in 1991...Just want to thank you and the others who hang out here and wait for people like me to post...

You're a youngster compared to many of us, although your Cakewalk experience is greater than mine. Started with MC 2003 almost 10 years ago.
