Sunni Girl

This track almost melted my processor, as I barely slipped under the limit on this one. I really need a new computer.

THANK YOU for listening and Merry Christmas to you!

This is very pop. It's a cool little bit of fun.

This is just me, it seems, but I loathe that vocal effect. I blame Cher for giving us that nonsense.

This song reminds me of a girl I knew in college who was so happy with herself. She would put on a big smile and hold her hands on either side of her face and dance around. I guess she was grooving in her own way.

    I think it's a cool song.

Well done and nice vocals other than that effect.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Great song! You kept it interesting .I didn't dislike the vocal effect but i know it rubs some the other way. I thought your voice fit well with the song.

I like the light bouncy feel the song has. Hope to hear more from you!

Catchy tune and well done. It had an engaging pop polka feel. I think it's fun to experiment with those vocal effects and it seemed to fit the song nicely. Good work.

Thank you Guitar! Yes I know... the toy is there so I play with it a little. Maybe I over used it, but MOST recordings I do use it... just not so agressively! I tried to used the tool itself as an instrument, just like any other sound on this recording.

This was a fun song to listen to.  The auto-tune effect is rapidly becoming overused, but in this case, it fit the mood.  The mix is full bodied, and it sounds like you had a good time recording this.  Believe me, that's not easy to accomplish.  Keep up the good work.

    All the best,

Very cool hip now T-Pained song.

Synth line is a bit retro sounding. Not a negative but I would cut it in half each time. Just a little too long, IMO.

A fun pop track. Not really a genre i like to be honest, and i have a really strong aversion to that autotune vocal effect so that spoilt any enjoyment for me.

The mix and production sounded pretty impressive on my speakers.

Thank you Lynn! Yes after 70 or so passes from editing-playback it starts to waer on you and you think "alright lets finisg it and get this song over with!" Ha ha!

Thank you for the critique Bapu/Blipp:

I need the vocal correct because after 20 unsuccessful recording passes, I realize I am killing the vocal line and just end up using the vocal editor, and while I am there, play with the effect a little.

Normally I don't write songs or use the vocal editor like this... as this was my first and last attempt at house/pop/trance music!

    Thanks again!

Very nice!  Great job on the mix.  It sounds like Ocean Eyes.  I agree that I would cut the synth time a bit or add some variations.

So you are right handed and play a left handed guitar?

    Thank you vechung!

    Who is Ocean Eyes?

No... that is a freind of mine's guitar and he is left handed. I just happend to be at his home when he snapped the picture.

I originally recorded this song a couple years ago with the synth part half as long, like everyone suggested... but I thought it was too short because there wasn't enough time for the oscillation to narrow... decreasing it's effect. I see the synth AS the main part of the song, and the vocals merely a set-up to it.

    Thanks again!

I really like this one...I agree...light, bouncy, catchy.  Great job.  I messed around with some synth sounds today...and I have even more respect for you guys that can do this!

Looks like you spent a little too much time in the sun.  :)

Thank you Janet! No, no sun... it was Christmas time a few years ago. I think I may have been embarrassed and had a red face!

So, you're messing with synths? Hmmm... I have heard you play piano beautifully on these threads... don't you have an acoustic piano (as I recall?)

No, no acoustic here.  What you're hearing is the Ivory Grand vst.  I love that thing.  Anyway,  I'm reworking some of my old stuff....the mixes are so awful even I can hear how bad they are!  lol  I thought I'd try to do something different with 'Sunset' but I wasn't feeling it last night.  Maybe some day.
