Disappearing GUI in Random Plug-Ins..Audio FX

X1 user since day one and I have a new problem that I hope someone can help me with.

Simple issue...

I insert Sonar TL64 and the FX window opens I see the GUI no problem everything works fine.

I insert PX64 and the FX window opens but blank...no GUI. The presets menue shows all the presets and they all work....but what happened to the GUI?

This is happening on random Soft Synths and Audio FX plug-ins.

Windows 7
i7 2600k
8GB RAM
3TB HDs
GeForce 560 Ti
Sonar X1 latest patch.

Just a stab in the dark. Have you tried disabling X-ray. This technique has worked for the wave plugin effetcs

Also try just closing and re opening the plug-in.
Not deleting it but just closing and opening it.

This also worked when the Waves were doing this.

    Worth a shot anyway.

I can't figure out how to disable it. I have never used it since issues in Sonar 8. I followed directions in the help file on how to use it...and it that does not even work...SHIFT + X. Nothing happens when I use the combo. Is there some hidden place where it can be disabled? I opened some plug-ins, piano roll view, audio snap and ...nothing.

I found where you enable/disable X-Ray. It was disabled. I turned it on...used it a few times and turned it off and I still have the issue with the GUI not showing for some of my plug-ins.

Have you updated to the latest version? I remember this happening but not for a long time now. IIRC this was addressed in a patch at some point

I have an nVidia GeForce GTX 560M adapter in my laptop and reported issues with scrambled GUI's for the Softube plugins. I have not been able to reproduce your problems with the PX64. I tried all sorts of video adapter settings to figure out what might cause this but I have no idea and, in my case, it was not Sonar related since it happened outside of Sonar in a different DAW app.

Do you have any other DAWs you can test the plugs that are VSTs that were demonstrating the issue just to see if it is Sonar specific? It is curious that you are seeing a problem and we have adapters that are probably similar.

Ken...this gave me an idea that I should have thought of...I have both 32 and 64bit versions of Sonar installed. I created the song in X1 32bit and I opened PX64 in X1 64bit and it worked fine...GUI and all.

So my guess is that the 32bit PX64 dll is corrupted and I will need to reinstall off the Sonar X1 DVD...and thats why I buy the DVD Version of the Software when I upgrade. :) I'll post how it went.

    Thanks!
