I only have used the Sonar VS software and now X1, so I don't know. But I'm sure you will get your answer if you posted this in the "Sonar Producer and Studio" forum.

Thanks for your reply. I know now that my Sonar version is not 8 because some plug ins are LE versions. So I am thinking to going to version X1. Are you referring to the version of Sonar that comes with the VS100? If so, that is not Sonar8, that is called Sonar-VS. It has most of the essentials, but an upgrade to X1-Producer is a big jump in capability and many more plug-ins. You can follow the Sonar-VS upgrade path and save $50. Look for a holiday-special price too.

M@ B Are you referring to the version of Sonar that comes with the VS100? If so, that is not Sonar8, that is called Sonar-VS. That's correct. I thought, I will un- install the VS version en buy a complete X1 version. I am not a person that will work with upgrades. Hopefully Santa is good for me this year an put an X1 version under my Christmas tree, hahahahaha. P.s Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Uninstalling VS is a good idea if you are going to install X1 especially if you are going to run X1 64bit. The two programs together can cause problems in X1 64. ---------------------------------------------- But as far as upgrading to X1 from VS, it will save you $50. The X1 software is the same as if you didn't upgrade, but if you just purchase without upgrading from VS, you'll pay $50 more. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.

First of all, a happy en healthy new year. Thanks for your reply. I am going to look for a Sonar (software) Dealer in the Netherlands and first I going to see what the full Sonar X1 version prices are in euro's. The holly days are over now, so the shops will be open again. I'll be back.

Happy New Year, If you want, you can simply just purchase X1 from the Cakewalk store at the top of the page here in the forum. Electronic download is instant and saves shipping fee. I suggest again not to purchase with out upgrading, you'll just be spending more money for absolutely no reason.
