MIDI keyboard instruments changing style

I recorded two tracks from my MIDI keyboard (Casio WK200).  I recorded the first as a piano (using the setting on the keyboard) and the 2nd as a trumpet.  When I play it back thru cakewalk, it switches both tracks to the 2nd choice - trumpet.  How can I keep the tracks on the computer the same as I played them on the keyboard so that I can use more than 1 instrument?
Help!

have a look at my website....music &  recording and look at TTS on setting it up for multiple instruments.

It's all about getting the midi channels set properly and assigning them in TTS.

ask if you don't understand this.

It doesn't matter what sound the keyboard is making when you record MIDI; that's just data, not sound.
You select what sound you want the MIDI track to play by selecting the patch in the MIDI track. And use different channels for each track (in most cases when using straight MIDI, no soft synths).

what are you using as output?  are you routing back to the keyboard or are you using a softsynth?
