Nomad magnetic II ?

I just picked up the $99. bundle.. Thank you guys that pointed that out, well worth it..  Anyhow I inserted Magnetic II onto the main bus just to see how it sounded, OMG.. I was blown away on how much warmth and character it added . On my main bus I never add any effects and  I keep the mix at around -4 to -3 db , with Magnetic onto the main bus and set the way I liked it , it sounds so good ,And It didn't raise the overall mix , it pretty much still hangs around -4db..
Can I or should I leave magnetic on the main bus then bounce the .wav , then master it .Or bounce it without magnetic the add it to the mastering chain?

 Thanks John

I would do the latter in a good mastering host like Wavelab.

I would leave it (especially if it sounds good).  Go with your ears.  Then master, you may see that it just brings out more warmth.  I don't like putting it into my mastering chain. I find for me it works better pre-master. But there a lot of ways to do things, experiment and make great sounding music!

I don't have it (yet) but it is supposed to mimic the tape sound right?  I would think that in the analog world that tape sound is there pre-master, so too should the (simulated) tape sound in the digital realm.
    But, I could be wrong.?

Bouncing one file w/ Magnetic on and one w/ it bypassed might be an option. If you like the sound of it and it becomes an integral part of the mix, then, in theory, you should be fine including it in the mixdown.

OTOH, having the unprocessed mixdown might be a good option. I sometimes do that when I have a compressor on the Master Buss.

I use  Magnetic II and Kramer Master Tape also on most of my mixes.  Love them to give analogish warmth.  I use them on the master buss of my mix.  They really do help me get the sound the way I want it.  You want the mix stage as good as possible; get it the way you want it in the mix.

I have not had to add either to the mastering stage.  For Mastering, I use use other tools like Ozone (which has a very clean limiter) or T-Racks (a little more color but also a nice brickwall limiter), and now my new toy: Fabfilter's Pro line.  Ideally, you (probably already) know that it is best to have someone else do the Mastering.  They have the fresh ears and different monitors to make the needed corrections and to help all the songs/tracks have cohesion.

Good luck.  Magnetic is a nice tool!
