Help! My USB MIDI cord does things kind of backwards

Howdy all, I'm new here, and hoping for some assitance!

I have a cord which is USB on one end and MIDI on the other...When I press a key on the MIDI piano, there is no signal in until AFTER I've released the key. At that point, the signal is held and won't release until I press some other piano key. I've tried two MIDI keyboards and they both act this way, so I'm pretty sure it's something I've done wrong with the cable.

It did this same thing on my old Music Creator 2003, and it still does it now with my new Music Creator 6.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

This forum is as good as any..... it deals with hardware....

I'm thinking the cord thing is not gonna work like you hope..... you should look into a proper interface to do it right. The cord things like the UNO sometimes work and sometimes not.

I think you've probably got the INPUT and OUTPUT swapped on the keyboard.  try swapping them.

I tried swapping the INPUTs and OUTPUTs, then nothing happens at all.

it's a possiblity that your cable doesn't work with your keyboard.  which brand and model keyboard and which brand and model USB cable?

and do you have the latest drivers for the USB cable for your operating system?  and what is your operating system?

    I have a Casio LK-43 keyboard, and a Yamaha YDP-140.

The USB cable doesn't seem to have a brand at all! (it was really cheap...)

I've tried it on two different computers, both Windows Vista.

I got it from Amazon probably a year ago, but they don't stock it anymore.

Music Creator refers to it as "VIEWCON"

    I think this is it.....http://www.viewcon.net/vi...rodshow.asp?ProdId=793

Does anyone have advice on which MIDI interface I should look at purchasing? There are so many different kinds. I just want to be able to connect my keyboards to my computer and record.

well, I can't guarantee that getting a new one is the solution, but I also think it's a possibilty.  i'm not sure I would trust that one.

I'd look at getting a cakewalk one.

I have the m-audio UNO and it works fine for me, but some people have had problems getting them to work with specific keyboards.
