Latest Musical Rambling
Hi all, Long time no post, unfortunately I do seem to work at the speed of a snail on Valium mainly due to work commitments and other music projects (I run a small choir). However, I finally had some time over the Christmas holidays to put together this track which I hope you all enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8ThyJkMu1k or you can find it at my website www.biodiode.com and its the first tune in the player. Thanks for listening :)

I enjoyed this song, however, compared to some of the other songs I've been listening to all day, it lacks drive and punch. You don't have to do much to get this at the same level as most other songs of this genre. Punch up the overall volume a bit, and you'll be good to go. Good effort.

I liked the synths here. Nice dance tune. For the genre I suppose it could be given a little more snap, but I also thought that it was nice to hear this sort of thing not super pumped for a change.

I listened to the first 30 seconds of the original one and then switched to the newer version, there is quite a difference in 'punch'. Perhaps you should change the original link to point to the newer version (or update the video at that link). I'm not a huge fan of this style of synth music but having said that this did keep me interested all the way through so you must be doing something right. Production wise, it was crystal clear and well balanced, really professional sounding - on my laptop speakers. Cheers, Terry.

I think you improved this mix quite a bit. It now can be felt as well as heard. Plus, as is, it's not too long. I find one of the hardest things for a self-producer to do is to edit the length of a song. Nice job.

Thanks for the feedback guys very much appreciated. I will replace the track on the youtube link. I sat watching one of the Craig Anderton videos this morning and used one of his tips with the multiband compressor/limiter. With that and the other tweaks I did it seems have done the job. **edit** The link at the top of the page had been updated with the new mix.

Hi Adrian! I was thinking about you just today! and I'll bet you've forgotten why I would think about you! nearly 2 years ago I asked for people from this forum to provide me with some spoken words of "The Lord's Prayer" in different languages and you graciously provided a female's voice of the Lord's Prayer in Latin for me! remember that? well I'm FINALLY about to release this one! I'll be posting it probably next week! today I had a lady friend of mine in the studio laying down some backing tracks for it and that was the last thing I needed. Now I just have to finish mixing it and post it! make sure and come back around some and check it out! now - sorry for the sidetrack of your thread! I just listened to your youtube version. the link later in the thread doesn't work. I'm not an electronica expert, but I like this. very nice soundscapes, good rhythm and beat. good work!!!

Hi Beagle, No probs about the sidetrack I always wondered what happened to that project :) Thanks for the feedback, this type of music is not usually my style and it was one of those things that you start fiddling with and it started to write itself. Looking forward to hearing what you have done with the Lord's Prayer.

Awesome electronica ... Personally I might crave more hip-hop bass-kick, earlier along (not just the 2nd half), to strengthen your melodic bass synths. Melodics and beatz are so rapturous I was forced to listen twice on my tight schedule. You Rock!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a style I listen to much, but it sounds much like it should to me - great sounds - Omnisphere is one of the many things on my wishlist.

Hi, I don't listen to this type of music much but I do like the genre in general and I like your tune in particular. Like it a lot, actually. Very nice work.

Thanks for the comments. Guitarprima - Although I can sing I don't do vocals on my tunes as I am terrible at writing lyrics :) I also don't have access to a female singer as I think that type of sound works best on this genre. paulo - the majority of the synth sounds are Zebra2, which is an awesome synth. All that comes from Omnisphere are the pads and the arp that kicks in now and again. If you look at my youtube channel and listen to Omnipresence 2, all the sounds come from the spectrasonics family.

My few forays into synths have shown me how hard it is to do... At least when you know almost nothing about it. lol. This, on the other hand, sounds like you know what you're doing. I rarely listen to this type of music, but I really, really like this and wish I had somewhere to dance to it. Although I'd probably hurt something if I did. And totally embarrass my sons. lol
