Pre-sale Question: X1 Producer, VS-100 and Win-7 64-bit!

Hi there,

I'm a long-time Cakewalk user and am looking to upgrade my older Sonar Producer software to X1 Producer and possibly my Digital Audio Interface.

I just upgraded to a new PC both for 3D Art and Audio, so I'm using a dual-processor Xeon now with 48GB RAM in Win 7 64-bit.

My question is, is X1 optimized-for or is it stable enough to use in Win-7 64-bit?

Is the VS-100 appreciably better than the Delta 1010? I haven't been happy with the performance of the 1010 on my older system and was thinking it would be good to upgrade my Digital Audio Interface at the same time as the software.

How does X1 work with the VS-100, since they're both Cakewalk products?

Mainly, I'd like to avoid surprises related to my 64-bit OS. 32-bit systems are outdated in my opinion if nothing else because there's so little RAM available.

Is X1 multithreaded at all for use with both multiple processors/cores and hyperthreading?

Thanks. :)

Dan

Hello NukleoN, i currently use the VS100 with Sonar X1-P x64, W7 x64, eh-hem... though only with about 40 LESS GIGABYTES OF RAM! LOL. I have no issues with stability and the current x64 drivers are quite good. As far as your Delta 1010 question, i don't know about that device. About multithread, i remember reading somewhere that X1 takes advantage of multicore processors. HTH.
