Ozone 4 vs Ozone 5
Anyone had a chance to compare Ozone 5 to 4? Worth the $99 upgrade?

A man of many words..... v4 has 6 modules and v5 says 8 modules. Wonder what the two additional ones are. "Post equalizer" and something else? Maybe no real benefit.

I've heard the same from several other people. I will not be doing the upgrade any time soon. I have O4 and it does a right fair job for me.

But I have Ozone 5 and I expect it do "one" more of job for me over Ozone 4. Does that make me a bad person?

Hi I have both as I only purchased 4 just before 5 came out, so I got that as a free upgrade. The GUI is better and you do get the extra post EQ (which I am finding handy) but apart from that I feel Bit is right, I can't hear much difference Nigel

Does that make me a bad person? You probably also have a bass guitar with more than 4 strings on it. Suspect, for sure.

I ended up in the same scenario as Nigel, so for me to upgrade was a no brainer. Using both I can say that they are similar but I could see myself using O5 in mastering more and O4 as a track tool . I actually like the user interface better in O4 but I do see some slight improvements in 5, and once I get the hang of it, it's more efficient overall. I think the biggest noticable improvements would be more noticed in the flagship Ozone 5 advanced, but I don't have that much dough to spend right now.

The extra "Eye Candy" in Advanced looked good, but it didn't seem like many (any?) of the Ozone users were impressed. Since its intended use is as a "Mastering" plug, do you really need the individual plugs? I do use the singles, quite a bit, from my TRackS suite; but I think the FF Pro-Q will/has become my go to EQ. If the Pro-C is half as intuitive, well you get my drift. When AudioDeluxe dropped the price on O5 I did grab it. Off to the studio to try and wrap my head around all my new toys... One question, on final export do you let Ozone handle the dither, or Sonar? On second thought, for Rock, Pop, Blues; it really doesn't matter does it. T
