Alesis Multimix 8 usb 2.0 with SONAR X1 VST connections

I have the Alesis Multimix 8 usb 2.0, It came with cubase LE, I've just started using Sonar x1 and am excited to get started, however I have a problem with my device settings. Its only giving me input drivers MIC_LINE_IN_1,3,5,7 and MAIN_MIX_IN_LEFT and output drivers OUT_LEFT. In Cubase I could go into VST connections and set up 10 mono channels 8 channels with 2 main mix out. I have put a check by "show mono outputs" in sonar's device settings but nothing changes. any help is appreciated.

you should have selections like this:

    MIC_LINE_IN_1 L
    MIC_LINE_IN_1 R
    MIC_LINE_IN_1 STEREO
    MIC_LINE_IN_3 L
    MIC_LINE_IN_3 R
    MIC_LINE_IN_3 STEREO

etc.  is that not the case?

yes thats right. but where is MIC_LINE_2, 4,6, & 8? is MIC_LINE_1 R actually MIC_LINE_2? and if so can I rename them somewhere to avoid confusion when I'm trying to track some stuff real quickly? Also stil only have output drivers only OUT_LEFT. Don't I want Stereo? there is an output driver available called asio4all but it's gray and wont let me select it.

Yes.  MIC_LINE_1 R is actually channel 2.  you can use friendly names in PREFERENCES ("P") > DEVICES.  check the box for using friendly names and then change the name on the left side.

in the PREERENCES go to the DRIVER SETTINGS and make sure your PLAYBACK DEVICE is listed as the ASIO4ALL one.

Good to go on friendly names. Thanks! now just the output... I have 2 options in Output Drivers window: 1. Alesis USB audio device OUT_LEFT and 2.ASIO4ALL v2 Not Connected 1. The asio4all is gray and I'm unable to select it.
