VS-700 with Octa-Capture question

Hi all, My setup is working great, but I was wondering am I suppose to be able to adjust the Octa input gains with the 700-C console, or is it only possible through the Octa GUI interface, as I have been doing? I was hoping by banking into the next 8 channels with the console while in I/O mode I would be able to operate the input volumes with the console faders. Thanks in advance!
