Getting rid of soft synths that are no longer in a project in MC 6?
Does anyone know how to get rid of a soft synth that is no longer in the project for MC 6? I have deleted the tracks with the soft synth info, the offending synths are not to be found in the plug in manager. Is there a soft synth rack view where it would be? If so how do I access this view in MC 6? It would be nicer to chat real time but these forums can be a huge help from time to time so thanks in advance...

On the right in MC 6 is a little <<< thing at the top of the Track view. Click it to see the synth rack. Select the synth you want to remove and click the X .

Can you explain that a bit better? If you want to delete a synth from the project just right click it in the FX bin and select DELETE from the list of options. I was thinking that also removed it from the synth rack as well..... but if not, Greg;s right on how to do that. In the plug in manager.... you don't necessarily see the names of the individual synths. For example if you have a folder listed there called VST.....AND VST folder contains the DLL files of 23 synths.... you will not see the 23 synths listed BUT when PIM scans the VST folder it's looking for DLL files and it finds and scans all 23 of them. The place to look for synths is in the Synth available list when you select INSERT SYNTH or Soft Synths from the FX bin..... For Audio FX...same rules apply.

It would be nicer to chat real time but these forums can be a huge help from time to time so thanks in advance... There is a member named Robomusic. He has a site called Music Town (link in his signature). It has a chat room but in the many years it's been open and how often we've tried to get people to go there for live help, almost no one has done it. I just checked and it appears to still be active. The problem is setting up a time when someone else will be available to help.

If 2 people are here at the same time and both are working on the issue...this forum can be mighty close to a chat..... I've seen it happen more than a few times.

OK, I must be an idiot because I can't see the <<< thing at the top of the track view on the right side or anywhere...perhaps I have something else set that hides it...any ideas?
