What vst plugin will do this??

I have a recording of a guitar player in my old band and I'm trying to duplicate his sound (I have the same type of equipment that he used back in the day), is there a vst plugin that will analyze the audio and tell you the frequencies, the Q, and the db of the boost or cut that make up the sound??  I know I could always match eq with Ozone or something similiar but is there something that will actually tell you which frequencies were boost or cut?

Thanks in advance.

    looking at the freqs on an analyzer is one thing.... it shows you the freqs of course, but to match the tone is a totally different animal.

    If you have the same gear that the guitarist in question was using, that's also only one part of the equation. The guitarist's touch, styling, techniques, strings, picks,  play just as important a part in the tone they were able to achieve as the gear.

    I have listened to many guitarists through the years and have tried to imitate their sound. I can tell you it's possible to get close, but in the end, what you really want to do is get your own sound going.

    Story: A player that I knew used a middle quality guitar and a Peavey amp that really ... the two of them together sounded OK but nothing to brag about. this guy played like that all the time and was trying to make it sound better...all to no avail. He tried tone pedals and all sorts of things. Nothing worked.
    So one night, his band was playing at a certain local club that had concrete floor, high ceilings and cinderblock walls..... a real nighmare for bands. Anyway, a few of us guitarists from other bands had nothign to do so we went to visit them on their gig. Another guitarist who was known for really nice tone (he had a boogie and a LP) was asked to set in on a few songs on Bobby's guitar/amp. Bobby sat it out with us at the table.  When this guitarist started to play, the tone was so much better. The only difference was the person on the guitar. Bobby's comment: Man... how does he do that?

    the player is just as much a part of the tone as the gear.

    Bobby = Herb?
    The other guitarist = Herb?

    Who's Herb in this story?

    Bobby is Bobby....

    Herb is Herb

    Not the same person. Bobby played in a different band than me.... and I never played with a Peavey amp.  And we never played in the same band together. Bobby is one of those guys who knew hundreds of songs by memory and did not need cheat sheets to pull it off.

    At the time..... I was using some ratty amps but I had my SG. I was using an Ampeg that needed a gorilla to carry it.

    BTW: I do not recall the guitar Bobby used BUT it was kinda cheap. Sometime later....another guitarist (not in this story until now) playing in a different band..... was actually quite good..... and played a marshall with a LP...... anyway.... this "other guitarist" got saved one night in church and felt God was leading him to be a minister. So he totally quit music and went to see Bobby and GAVE him the LP. He then moved to Florida and became a preacher.

    I don't really think Bobby ever developed a good tone even with the LP. Last I heard he was still gigging the nightclubs in the area..... this has been several years ago.

    Google, "Kemper modeling amplifier".   that's your answer, although maybe a bit pricey for one instance.   And...not a VST either, but supposedly emulates/copies any guitar amp sound.
