Dancing With Debbie

This is about as good as I can do this one right now. I wanted to record different vocals but because of health problems that isn't really possible right now. So it has the original scratch vocal on it. I added some more guitar harmonies and mixed a distorted TTS-1 sax in with that. I'm still not happy with the final mix but I probably never will be so I'm going to cut it loose.

Here it is and I hope some of you will enjoy it. Comments and suggestions are welcome as I will probably redo it from scratch one of these days. And, yes, if I redo it I will make it shorter.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to it.

this is pretty cool, the intro is a little long, IMO.

you've got a lot of reverb on everything - a little too much, IMO.

the vox could use some rework in places.  (yes, I understand that's not possible right now - just mentioning what I hear...) - and personally I don't like the stereo bouncing on the vox.  I loved it in the '80s, but....

some real instruments instead of the softsynths would help this a lot, too.

drums are pretty good, I like them (except for the heavy reverb).
the instrumental solo at the end is a little long, too.  I lost interest around 6 minutes or so.
    good song, tho.

I did not mind the reverb on it. I thought the low part was a trifle too loud and I did not really hear any cymbals on the drums, but all in all it was not too bad of a mix.

This song has potential.  What I feel is lacking is some dynamic tension between the verse and chorus.  It sounds like they are on the same level throughout the song, and the change from verse to chorus isn't there.  There are many ways to achieve that tension, and if you decide to redo it in the future you could punch up the volume of the instruments or add some backup vocals.  I hope you get your health issues resolved, and I look forward to hearing this again.

    All the best,

    I like this song.
The reverb only sounds a bit much on the vocals.
The instrumentation sounds good, a bit heavy on the bass if anything.
    Great!

My favorite part was as the song started to build on the last few minutes or so. Nice bass line that it all seems to be built upon. Good story line. Early prog-rock jams that I've always been a fan of.

I hope you get well soon!!

    Thanks for posting this.

You know what you need to do based on the above advice. I can't add anything to what has been said.

song has got a good hook and sound; the synths are similar to something Wookiee would use, vocals are fine! yes it's a bit long for a pop-type song, but you add a lot of elements. this is the type of thing which would be really succesful as a remix/cover.

This is cool.  I'm enjoying the bass especially.  Pretty cool drums too.  I hope you get to feeling better soon!
