Preview Sound Clips

When I initially installed MC I could browse through the clip library and preview each clip. Somewhere along the line this quit working, and not the only way I can hear the clips is to apply them to a track, and then play the track back. Any idea what I may have changed to make clip previews stop working? Thanks.

are you talking about audio loops or midi loops?  if MIDI, you have to make sure you have a softsynth set up for playback - this is the default for MC template if you haven't modified the template for it to use TTS-1 as the output.

Thanks for the quick reply Beagle! The clips I am trying to preview are .wav file, so no they are not midi.

Yeah.... that freaked me out the first time that happened..... PLAYING the clips..... I mean.

Are you double clicking them? I think that's what gets them going.

I have tried double clicking on them, and also clicking on the play button up by the folder name in the browser view. Thanks!

we'll, I'm 1500 miles away from my DAW, so I can't look at it for you at this time (and I didn't load MC6 on my business laptop this time I travelled).  so I can't help figure it out at this time.  sorry.

    Something to always remember....

When something was working one minute ago....and it suddenly stopped..... save your work, and reboot the computer AND the interface.

It's amazing how many times that one simple trick will work.

Sometimes the program glitches or maybe the OS glitches but either way, things start acting buggy. Reboots can get it right.

My Saffire looses communications every now and then, and at times, something I do in working with several programs open and running will also cause a windows problem..... when I see things acting abnormally, I simply save, shutdown everything and reboot. It takes about a minute to be back up and working.

    Try that.
