Fantom VS MIDI Port Error

Greetings!

I just upgraded to X1 from 8.5.3.  Before doing that, I updated all the firmware for the VS-700C and -700R, and also the USB drivers for the 700.  Everything went fine, but now when I start any project that contains an instance of the Fantom VS, I get two error dialog boxes, one after the other.

Both boxes are titled Fantom VS, and the error is "Midi ports are not set up correctly."  I click OK and the project plays fine.

I had the same problem with the original VS-700 Fantom synth under Sonar 8.5.3, and I managed to eliminate those dialog boxes based on a suggestion in this forum, but I searched and can't find it now.  Does anyone know how to fix this (again)?

Thanks,
-doug-

I just got the V-Studio 700 and am having the midi error messages as well. I have X1d (64bit) and the whole installation was a nightmare for over 5 hours. In the end I got everything working ExCEPT the Fantom VS.
I also have another computer running 8.5.3 in 64bit and the installation went without a problem.
I have been having issues with the new computer (Asus P8H67-M mb, i5 2500k cpu  WIN7 Pro 64bit, w/8g ram, 60g ssd for OPsys, 4 - 500G caviar blk 7200 drives in raid 1 for storage).
The old computer is a duo core intel with 4G ram and 2 400G 7200 WD drives in Raid 0 running flawless.
I am trying some new memory today to see if that is the problem and maybe a new MB otherwise open to suggestions for ending the madness.
    thanks!
